Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

Extensive closures in the Elb Valley (Dresden – Bad Schandau) in week 16 the corridor renovation between Hamburg and Berlin is causing significant congestion on the North German rail network.
The Hanover rail hub is heavily congested, with some sections operating on a single track. Short notice diversions for north-south traffic via Osnabrück are resulting in significantly longer travel times.
Approach control systems to Hamburg and Bremerhaven are active.
Hamburg, CTA Terminal, handling backlog of approx. 20 hours.
Hamburg, Burchardkai Terminal, handling backlog of approx. 6 hours.
As a consequence, delays are to be expected, short-notice train changes or cancellations cannot be ruled out.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.
