Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

Due to weather conditions, the following seaport terminals suspended operations on 09.01.2026:
Hamburg, Terminal Burchardkai
Bremerhaven, Eurogate Terminal
Bremerhaven, NTB Terminal
There is currently no forecast as to when operations can resume.
Rail traffic has been suspended in northern Germany.
Hamburg Port Authority (HPA) approach control remains active.
Train and shunting operations are currently not possible due to frozen switches.
Storm “Elli” will significantly impact the situation later this afternoon.
As a consequence, significant delays and train cancellations are still to be expected.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.
