Rate development from 01.07.2022

The first half of 2022 is characterized by many difficult conditions and presents all participants in the transport chain – including us as a rail operator – with major challenges on a daily basis. A calming of the current situation in the seaports is not foreseeable and will continue to occupy us in the second half of the year. Likewise, the wave of price increases – especially on the energy market – has hit the entire transport and logistics sector and has become very noticeable for all of us.

Due to these external circumstances, we continue to see ourselves forced to take these cost developments into account from 01.07.2022 via various temporary surcharges (Energy Emergency Surcharge (EES), Congestion Surcharge, Fuel Surcharge) (see also our News section). These measures enable us to keep the base rate agreements on the self-produced Roland-Rail-Systems – from the German North Sea ports to the Austrian terminals v.v. – in the pure rail sector (KVS) and in Combined Transport (KV) – stable and to extend them until 31.12.2022.
