Update 22 Delays in Hamburg

13. March 2026 | Operative Infos

Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

  • Rail operations are currently still facing significant restrictions. The main reason is substantial delays on the German infrastructure. These delays cause trains to arrive late and, in some cases, to be taken out of service, which further postpones their subsequent departures.
  • In addition, the ongoing nighttime closure in the Elbe Valley is causing further operational limitations. This significantly complicates both train operations and locomotive movements.
  • Furthermore, DB InfraGO has announced that the major closure between Hamburg and Berlin must be extended due to weather-related impacts at the beginning of the year. The originally planned end date of April 30, 2026, cannot be maintained. The closure is now expected to continue until June 14, 2026, extending the disruption by approximately six weeks.
  • Infrastructure in the northern ports also continues to regularly reach its capacity limits.
  • Continued delays are therefore to be expected, and short-term train changes or adjustments of round trips cannot be ruled out.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.

As a precaution, we would like to point out that ROLAND Spedition accepts no liability for costs resulting from these events. Your contact person will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your transports.
