Update 05 Delays in Northern Germany

26. June 2026 | Operative Infos

Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

  • Due to the lingering effects of the Germany-wide GSM-R radio network outage between June 23 and 24, significant delays continue to affect the German rail network.
  • In addition, the diversion of traffic via Salzburg (due to the closure at Passau) continues to complicate the handover of trains from Germany to Austria and vice versa. ÖBB continues to deny approval for special train paths.
  • Significant delays continue to affect all routes; trains in Germany are frequently being taken out of service, and journey times for all trains are increasing substantially.
  • Additionally, due to staff shortages at the CTA terminal in Hamburg, there will be NO rail handling tomorrow, Saturday, June 27. CTA is unable to provide replacement staffing for the night shift. Rail handling operations will not resume until the start of the early shift on Sunday, June 28, at 06:45. Consequently, trains with a CTA slot on Saturday cannot be processed.
  • As a consequence, delays and train cancellations are to be expected.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.

As a precaution, we would like to point out that ROLAND Spedition accepts no liability for costs resulting from these events. Your contact person will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your transports.
