Imbalance Development German North Sea ports

20. January 2023 | Operative Infos

Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

  • A decline in import volumes is offset by high export volumes, which particularly affects the connections from Austria to the German North Sea ports.
  • This development has meant that our export capacities are fully booked by the end of week 7, the declining import volumes have led to increased operating costs, which have been covered by Roland Spedition to date, but this is no longer podssible from a business point of view.
  • Nevertheless, we have endeavored to create additional capacity in order ot be able to continue to offer you timely export departues and would like to inform you that we can offer the possibilities for export one-way trains.
  • We can transport all new bookings from 20.01.2023 for departues up to initially including week 7 ex Vienna, Enns and Graz to the German North Sea ports a a proportional additional cost of EUR 210,–/TEU with the one-way trains. with a weekly update we will keep you informed about the development.
  • If you are interested or have any questions, the entire Roland Sales Team will be happy to help.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.

As a precaution, we would like to point out that ROLAND Spedition accepts no liability for costs resulting from these events. Your contact person will be happy to answer any questions you may have about your transports.
