Restriction of rail traffic

We want to inform you about the current situation and effects.

Important updates

The continuous construction site areas in the German railway network have been with us for years, within the framework at a virtual information event, we were informed about the planned construction site-related and the massive restrictions to be expected.
Especially the RFC 3 (Rail Freight Corridor) between Scandinavia and the Mediterranean, which is important for our north/south traffic (Hamburg/Bremerhaven – Enns/Vienna) will be massively affected by construction work, the route sections relevant to us relate to the Hamburg-Ülzen-Hanover-Göttigen-Kassel-Fulda-Würzburg area.the infrastructure work takes place all year round, from the beginning of June to end of September 2022 massively increased construction activities have been announced in the RFC 3 corridor. During this time, we expect significant capacity restrictions, such as a reduction in train lengths and total train weights. Detour traffic will lead to longer transit times.
The additional presistent overload and resulting acceptance measures in the ports of Bremerhaven and Hamburg will further worsen the overall situation and train cancellations are to be exptected.
We try to adapt our planning to the situation as much as possible in order to keep train cancellations to a minimum. Special trains were and are regularly requested by us, train path promises were not confirmed to us with the note that the focus lies in managing the regular timetable.

Delivery times or fixed dates cannot be guaranteed; these require unhindered transport by rail or road traffic.
